The Ease of Taking a Lease Car Abroad - Mario's Story

Whether or not you are able to take a lease car abroad is a common question we get asked. You can take your lease car abroad on holiday or travelling whenever you wish, but there are a few extra steps required due to the fact you are not the legal owner. But don't let this put you off, it couldn't be easier!
Mario's Story
Mario planned well ahead which we always recommend customers doing when they want to take their lease car abroad; with the holiday planned for June this year, Mario contacted Pendle Lease in April querying what he needed to do. Contacting us in advance avoids any delays in the relevant the paperwork being issued and eliminating the stress of having one more piece of paperwork to worry about when travelling.
Our team discussed with Mario exactly what he needed to do and provided all of the contact details he needed to request the paperwork. Our article linked above covers all of the steps, but they are very simple:
- Contact Pendle Lease initially for all the information and contact details you need.
- Call/email the finance company (the legal owners) to make them aware the vehicle is going abroad and request the legal documentation. They may charge a small admin fee for this.
- Receive a letter of authorisation and/or a VE103B form. This is everything you need to carry on you in relation to taking the car abroad.
Upon his return, Mario got in touch with us to let us know how easy and hassle free the whole process was. From talking to a member of the team at Pendle to dealing with the finance company, everything was smooth and easy going - exactly what you want at the start of the holiday.
