Van Leasing FAQ
Still not sure if van leasing is right for you? Have a look at some of the most frequently asked questions, and see if yours has already been answered.
1) How does van leasing work?
Similar to car leasing, van leasing is a long-term rental that you pay monthly fixed fees to drive. You will agree on the terms of the contract including the length, mileage, vehicle etc. Once the fee has been agreed you will pay this fixed fee for the remainder of your contract for the duration outlined by your lease, typically 24, 36 or 48 months.
2) What are the benefits of van leasing?
Leasing a van has numerous benefits as opposed to outright buying. Here are the main benefits of van leasing:
- Fixed monthly payments
- No depreciation
- You can swap your van for a new model easier (depending on the length of your contract)
- The option to add maintenance (MOT, service, etc.)
- Lower monthly payments
- Benefit from having a new van with the latest technology
3) What van lease deals are available?
We offer competitive van leasing deals from all major manufacturers in the UK, providing you with the flexibility you need to make the right decision. Choose from prime brands such as Dacia, Citroen and Peugeot.
Discover special offers from the latest makes and models, including pickups, people carriers, small vans, big vans, tipper vans and dropside vans.
4) Can I lease an electric van?
Yes, of course you can. We offer a wide range of electric and hybrid van leasing deals, find out more about our electric offers here.
5) Who can lease a van?
Whether you’re looking to lease a van as part of a business or an individual, we have the van leasing deal for you. Mid-sized enterprises, corporations, self-employed, we support customers of all backgrounds with the option to lease a single van or a fleet.
6) Is maintenance available with my van lease?
Yes, maintenance CAN be included in your lease. When you receive your bespoke quotation from us, it will state one of two things under the ‘Maintenance Responsibility’ part; customer maintained or funder maintenance.
If the lease is customer maintained this means the responsibility for maintaining the car (and associated costs) falls to you. However, if the lease is funder maintained the cost of maintaining the vehicle has already been covered, and has been included in your monthly payments. While the payments have already been organised, it is still your responsibility to ensure the vehicle is maintained at the correct time/mileage.
Manufacturer’s warranty and RFL (road tax) are also included for the duration of your lease.
You can find out more about this on our vehicle leasing with maintenance page.
7) How do I pay my van lease?
You’ll pay for your van lease through fixed monthly payments, as well as an initial payment. These payments are discussed and set at the beginning of your contract and are fixed throughout. These payments depend on the model of the van, the mileage, the length and other factors.
The larger the initial deposit, the smaller the monthly fees (and vice versa) - this can be discussed at the beginning of your contract.
8) What is included in my van lease?
All of our van leases include:
- RFL (road tax) - for the entire duration of your lease
- Free UK mainland delivery accompanied by a complementary handover service
- The option for a no deposit van lease
- The option to add maintenance to your lease
- A brand new van straight from the manufacturer
- MOT included for the first three years
- No admin or processing fees
9) Is delivery included in my van lease?
Yes, Pendle Lease is Essex based and offers free mainland UK delivery on all our van leases - complete with a complementary handover service.
10) What’s the difference between business and personal van leasing?
Personal van leasing is for private individuals who would like to lease a van, and business van leasing is for limited companies, partnerships, sole traders and LLPs. Business contracts exclude VAT, while personal contracts include VAT.
11) How long is my van lease for?
A typical van lease contract is around two, three or four years. However, we can offer van leasing deals anywhere from one year (24 months) to five years (60 months). You can also choose the duration of your initial rental ranging from 3 to 12 months.
12) Can I hand my van back before the end of the lease?
Yes, it is possible to hand your van back before the end of the lease. However, there are penalties for handing your vehicle back before the end of your contract, including paying the remainder of your contract in full.
13) What happens at the end of my van lease?
At the end of your van lease, you simply hand the car back. It must meet the BVRLA’s fair wear and tear policy in order to avoid additional charges. Once the vehicle has been handed back you can put down a low initial rental on your new vehicle and continue to lease another brand new van.
