The the team of sausage-makers is made up of around 30 people, mostly butchers and the pork is sourced fresh from local German farmers. Taking it a step further, since 2010 Volkswagen have produced a vegetarian alternative as well.
The pork is delivered to the factory three times a week, ensuring complete freshness. The recipe is a VW secret, but we do know that the sausage skins are called Volkswagen Originalteil ("Volkswagen Original Part").
On top of this, Volkswagen even produce their own ketchup to go with the sausages. And this has a part number too: 199 398 500 B.
